Apologies

For anyone who's been waiting for more writing from me, I'm sorry. Life has kind of got in the way over the past few months and time seems to disappear whenever I think I might have the time to write. I won't promise anything, but hopefully things will improve in the future and things that I've promised will be written, completed or begun.

Apologies

Sorry for the lack of writing from me recently - we're in a very hectic time of the year at work, and so there's not much opportunity for me to get to the keyboard and write. I have been adding to the latest chapter of Becoming Anne, and hopefully that will be ready to be posted soon - it's just a case of getting to a natural break and chapter end for it before I post it. Hopefully that will be soon.

The busy period should be winding up soon, though there is the prospect of me getting a promotion in the next week or so which might reduce amount of time I have for writing. I do promise to finish Becoming Anne for you all, though, no matter how long it takes!

Derailed

Life has happened. A combination of work and other factors - including a car dying - meant I didn't get any writing done yesterday, and not sure I'll get any done tomorrow. Off travelling for work and family stuff for a few days after that, so writing outlook is patchy (may depend on space and power sockets on trains), but I'm not giving up, and I've still got that 100,000 word target in my sights, even if it will require an epic writing session on April 10 to achieve it!

Falling off the wagon

Life is what gets in the way when you're planning to write. I've now hit three days in a row without doing any, but I'm hoping to turn that around today. This is why having the buffer zone was important, as it means I won't fall behind the target for a day, even if 1200 a day might be a bit beyond me now.

Sunday, Sunday...

As expected, being out all day yesterday for work meant I didn't get any writing done. Not sure whether I will today or not - I've already been up for a while, but in a half-awake, half-asleep zombified state where I can barely write my name, let alone vaguely coherent fiction.

As I didn't do a proper post yesterday, a quick catch up - almost 1200 words on the work-in-progress on Friday has taken me to a total of 52,239 and some real drama and twists - a new antagonist has revealed herself and our two heroines are now her prisoners. Short stories total is still 4,549, which means the overall total is 56,788 at an average that's still over 1200 words a day.

Maybe keeping the average above that will motivate me to write some more later today..

When you're making other plans

Unfortunately, life has got in the way of writing for the last couple of days, but Sunday's now stretching ahead of me, looking mostly empty and ready to be filled with words, so hopefully I can start making up for lost time. Got too busy with other things on Friday and Saturday to get any done, so nothing to report now, but hopefully I'll have a nice juicy entry for you tomorrow.

In other news, I also have a new fancy phone with a nice big screen (a Galaxy Note) so that might make it easier for me to write in other places too. Might be good for producing short stories!

Blanking

Sooo...I didn't write anything yesterday. I intended to, but then weekend things got in the way, so I had to eat into the buffer zone I've spent the last week establishing. Should be able to get some time to write today and make that 1000 words back up, and I guess it's a good sign that I feel annoyed at not having done anything yesterday instead of relief.

And with that, there's not too much else to write about, as all the issues and numbers remain exactly the same as they were yesterday. However, one thing I did do yesterday was look at tablets, as I'm thinking about getting one for doing work on the move, so do any of my handful of readers have any recommendations or suggestions? I'm thinking of getting a Nexus 7 - any experiences with that?
